Snow Conditions

Even though this year may not be as snowy as others, Steamboat Springs has received more snow than any other resort in Colorado and the skiing and winter fun is superb.  Here are a few photos from around Steamboat showing how much fun hiking, cross country skiing and ice climbing in Steamboat can be.  (The downhill skiing has been incredible too; I just didn’t get a picture.)

2017 Bear Claw Condo Sales

Bear Claw is one of the few true ski in, ski out condos in Steamboat Springs.   You can literally walk out and be on the slopes whether you are in Bear Claw I or Bear Claw II.  Personally, I think Bear Claw condos in Steamboat are one of the best values (This is as of Janury 2018–my opinion changes depending on market dynamics.)

2017 Torian Plum and Torian Creekside Condos

Torian Plum and Torian Creekside are located at the base in Ski Time Square near Slopeside and Cafe Diva restaurants.  They have a great location and are very walkable with the heated Promenade right outside their doorstep.  The two buildings sell for a similar price/square foot depending on condition and renovations even though they were built in different years.

Edgemont and One Steamboat Place are the places you want to own if you want the most luxurious slopeside living.  In 2017, four luxury condos sold in each building for prices ranging from $640,000 for a 1BR condo in Edgemont to two One Steamboat Place condos valued over $3,400,000.  All the condos at One Steamboat Place sold above $1000/sf, whereas only one condo at Edgemont closed above $1000/sf.

Steamboat Village Inn are the privately owned condos on the 6th and 7th floors at The Sheraton.  There were a lot of changes to the lower floors in 2017 with Marriott converting all the hotel rooms to larger suite-type residences which will be available to Marriott Vacation Club members.  The 22 condos on the 6th and 7th floor are the only properties that are available to be bought and sold (and rented privately).

Steamboat ski in, ski out real estate is always in demand with buyers who want the best locations to access the ski slopes.  Almost $50,000,000 in real estate sold around the perimeter of the ski slopes in 2017 at developments including Bear Claw, Chateau Chamonix, Dulany, Edgemont, Elk Horn, The Steamboat Grand, Ironwood, One Steamboat Place, Ptarmigan House, Ski Inn, Snow Flower, Steamboat Village Inn (the condos in The Sheraton), Storm Meadows and Torian Plum/Torian Creekside.  

The average price was about $626,000 with prices ranging from $170,000 for a 1 bedroom Storm Meadows condo to $3,500,000 for a luxury One Steamboat Place residence.
